Children's Yoga builds each practice from the ground up, creating an exclusively child-based practice and giving children the sometimes rare opportunity to just be kids within the context of yoga asana and meditation.
Children's Yoga is fun! It sets your child for a lifetime of good health, radiance and happiness! By using nature and animal-themed games, dance and song to stimulate the mind, the creative spirit and enhance the health. The teaching is a safe and fun environment for children of all ages to expand, explore and express their unique physical, emotional, mental and spiritual gifts.
Classes follow a flexible structure based on the age, interest, and ability of the child. Stories and music accompany our fun and educational "journeys" to exotic lands. The children use their imaginations and Animal Yoga postures to learn new vocabulary, gross and fine motor skills, and to understand balance and relaxation through meditation and breath. Partner poses and group meditations give children the experience of teamwork and trust with others; naming and teaching their very own yoga poses provides children with leadership and confidence-building skills. Children's Yoga Classes combine yoga postures and meditation to help transform the body, mind and spirit of our young ones, building the foundation for a bright tomorrow for all of us!

Please contact me if you have any questions or are interested in discussing tutoring possibilities.
"I recommend Claudia Matles’ tutoring services without reservation. I have always found her to be committed, driven, patient and compassionate. No matter what the challenge she is willing to persevere. She takes a deep interest in both the emotional and intellectual well being of the children she works with and often looks for the positive in what may seem at the time like dire situations as well as finding ways to break down information so it will be less overwhelming for the child... Her enthusiasm, reliability and flexibility along with her staunch determination to makes things work as well as to help the child become more independent has been critical to the success in our situation. Not only does she work on organizational, homework reading and writing strategies She is also equally commits herself to bringing the student along in areas of personal communication and exchange of ideas. This can be as important as the former, if not more so." ~ Toni Ross
" This letter is my personal recommendation for Claudia Maltes. I am a 16 years old high school student who was diagnosis with dyslexia at the age of 13. At that time, I was reading below grade level. Claudia worked with me for a school year and at the end I was reading at grade level. In addition to my reading, which was my weakest area she also helped me get ready for the SSAT exam. While working with Claudia I learned to love and enjoy reading. I found her to be consistently pleasant, motivating, patience and very dedicated. It was a great pleasure working with her. Claudia was also extraordinarily helpful in other areas of my education." ~ High School Student, 16
"Claudia tutored my daughter in reading, writing and organizational skills for approximately a year. Claudia identified my daughter’s needs and designed a program for her suited to those needs. Among other skills, they worked together on literature logging with novels, Wilson method and other tools for reading/expression of words/phonics/relationship between letters/sound and organization, the writing process – utilizing techniques to organize a variety of genres/style, story elements (webbing, brainstorming, molding, editing and proofing), writer critiquing, writing and reading skills (using dictionary, thesaurus, computer, vocabulary development tools, comprehension and spelling techniques), meditation/visualization for centering, memorization, peace and happiness/success... With Claudia my daughter experienced success and accomplishment – and most importantly, she enjoyed herself and really liked working with Claudia. I think that my daughter’s positive experience, success, enjoyment and comfort with Claudia resulted from the focused work they did together, but also because Claudia made my daughter feel important, loved and safe. I recommend Claudia without reservation." ~ Valerie Marvin
